Each team has to defend their castle at the end of their section of the field that is known as a ward. The Wards are known as the Blue Ward and the Gold Ward. The castles are polls set four feet wide by six feet high with a net strung between them. Each team has 15 players on it. The teams consist of one gatekeeper who protects the castle, four rear guards five mid-guards, and five advanced guards. The goal is to get a spherical stone that weighs 2.2 pounds into the other team's castle. The players use a fisher; a stick with a bowl at the end also known as a little catapult to pass the stone and to score. The team that has scored the most at the end of play is declared the winner.

The game is very physical and is a complete contact sport. The Marshal of the field has the right to sanction players who use excessive force on the field. If a player is sanctioned twice during one game they are retired from the field and the team is short a player.

Field Cross is an international sensation that has swept through Alquennas starting in TK 1020. The game is a team sport in which the goal is to get the two-inch ball into the opponent's goal. Each team fields ten players and a goal minder. The players handle the ball with a stick that looks like a modified hayfork, called an advancer. The original advancers were made from hayforks. The game lasts four hours and is broken down into four quarters, each an hour long. After the second period, there is a player break for 30 minutes.

The history of the game of Field Cross comes from Kenda, which introduced the game in TK 1000 to Azin. The Azin military saw Field Cross as a game to teach teamwork and team loyalty while not in combat. The Game has spread like wildfire throughout the realms since its introduction to Azin.

In TK 1048, plans were drawn up to allow national teams to compete in Kenda for the Field Cross Championships.

The First Memory - The First Memory refers to the first memory the Goblinoid races had upon being created. The Orcs with their genetic memory remember this as their first memory after they are borne.

The First Memory
First, there was the void, cold and empty, not even a sound. Then the warmth of the fire as surge of life engulfs the spirit as the sensation of bones erecting the shape and skin crawling over the muscles and joints. The memory of the first feeling as the sprouting teeth emerges from the iron hard jaws. Then the feeling of the blood pushed through the vessel by the hearts. Then the memory of the eyes opens for the first time. The first sight, a being, what is now called a Human looking Woman. The Orcs soon learned she was not human. So grateful for life the first ones drop to their knees in homage. Pledging their loyalty and lives to this woman. This woman proclaimed. "You are my children. You will be my hands and feet. Go forth and siege the lands that have been taken from me! The other gods believe that I no longer exist that they stopped me from ruling all. Make them all pay.

All who die for me will be given a seat of honor at the great feast. I give your descendants a gift. They will have you knowledge, skills, and all of your memories. I am known by many names, I give you this sign so you will know it is I when I next arrive." The first ones were then delivered to the land of blood. There they found the witnesses of the great battle and enslaved them.

This first memory is shared with no one outside of the Horde. Even the salves of the Horde will not know of this first memory. If a slave is caught listening or is suspected of knowing the first memory then the slaves tongue is cut out, hands are cut off, eyes and then the salve is put to death by slow starvation

The other members of the Horde have been taught this first memory. The Orcs and their direct cousins are the only members of the Goblinoid races that have genetic memory. The other members of the Horde believe that the Orcs are the chosen ones to lead them since their goddess chose them.
